PP spray tower desulfurization towerspray tower is the most common anti-corrosion acid mist scrubber material. It features excellent resistance to hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, hydrofluoric acid and other strong acid mediums, lightweight body, low production cost and easy on-site assembly. It is suitable for low & normal temperature waste gas below 60℃, widely used in electroplating workshops, hardware pickling factories and small chemical labs. The whole tower body is integrally welded with PP sheet, no leakage risk under long-term spray circulation.
2. 304 Stainless Steel
304 stainless steel spray tower owns outstanding high-temperature resistance and mechanical strength, applicable for high-temperature acid waste gas below 180℃ generated by hot pickling, thermal chemical processing. It has rigid structure, anti-impact performance, easy surface cleaning, suitable for large-flow continuous industrial production lines. But it has weak tolerance to hydrofluoric acid and high-concentration chloride gas.
3. 316L Stainless Steel
Upgraded corrosion-resistant stainless steel material, compared with 304, it greatly improves resistance to chloride ion, salt mist and mixed acid waste gas. It is the priority choice for marine chemical plants, salt processing workshops and production lines with complex mixed acid exhaust. Higher cost than 304, for medium and high-end industrial waste gas treatment projects.
4. FRP Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic
FRP spray tower integrates ultra-strong anti-corrosion and large-volume customization advantages, resistant to almost all inorganic acid waste gas. It can be made into super-large tower diameter for factory central exhaust treatment. Its disadvantage is poor high-temperature resistance, only working stably below 80℃.

PP spray tower desulfurization towerThe PP spray tower, also known as acid mist scrubber or flue gas desulfurization tower, adopts countercurrent gas-liquid absorption technology to remove sulfur dioxide, acid mist and harmful acidic pollutants from industrial exhaust gas. Its whole tower body is made of polypropylene (PP) material with superior acid corrosion resistance.
1. Gas Intake Stage
Contaminated flue gas containing SO₂ enters the tower from the air inlet at the bottom of the PP tower. The gas flows upward evenly through the tower packing layer, which greatly increases the contact area between waste gas and circulating absorption liquid.
2. Countercurrent Spray Absorption Stage
Alkaline desulfurization liquid (lime water, sodium hydroxide solution, etc.) is pumped to multi-layer spray nozzles installed on the upper part of the tower. The liquid is atomized into tiny droplets and sprays downwards, forming full countercurrent contact with upward flue gas.
Chemical neutralization reaction happens between alkaline liquid and sulfur dioxide inside the tower: sulfur dioxide gas dissolves into the liquid and reacts with alkali substances, converting gaseous sulfur pollutants into soluble salt liquid, thus realizing desulfurization.
3. Demisting Separation Stage
After desulfurization reaction, the gas carries lots of water mist and fine liquid droplets. When passing through the top demister, the mist droplets are blocked and separated from clean gas. The trapped liquid flows back down to the circulating liquid tank for repeated recycling.
4. Clean Gas Discharge & Liquid Circulation
Purified exhaust gas without sulfur pollutants is discharged out of the tower top up to environmental protection emission standards. The reacted circulating liquid accumulates in the bottom tank; users can regularly replenish alkaline absorbent or replace waste liquid according to the concentration of sulfur compounds.

Industrial flue gas enters the PP desulfurization spray tower from the bottom and rises upward. Alkaline absorption liquid is atomized and sprayed downward from the top nozzles to form countercurrent gas-liquid contact. Sulfur dioxide in waste gas is neutralized and absorbed by the alkaline liquid to complete desulfurization. Residual water mist is intercepted by the top demister, and clean exhaust gas is discharged after separation. The absorption liquid can circulate continuously to reduce operation costs.
