The acid and alkali resistant spray tower is a highly efficient gas purification system designed to treat corrosive industrial waste gas through a multi-stage gas-liquid contact process.

First, the polluted gas enters the tower’s lower section at a controlled velocity, moving upward through a layer of structured packing. This packing maximizes the gas-liquid contact area by breaking the gas flow into small streams. Simultaneously, a circulating neutralizing solution (customized based on the gas’s pH) is pumped to spray nozzles at the top of the tower, forming a uniform fine mist that falls counter-current to the rising gas.

As the gas and mist interact, acidic components react with alkaline absorbents (or vice versa), dissolving and neutralizing harmful pollutants.

For example, acidic gases like sulfur dioxide or hydrogen chloride react with an alkaline solution to form harmless salts, while alkaline vapors are neutralized with acidic solutions.

After passing through the spray and packing sections, the treated gas moves to the upper demister zone. This section removes entrained liquid droplets to prevent mist carryover, ensuring the exhaust gas meets emission standards. The used absorbent liquid collects in the tower’s sump, where it is recirculated back to the spray nozzles after pH adjustment, reducing waste and operational costs.
