🔥 Spray Tower (Wet Scrubber) - Features & Working Principle
⚙️ How the Spray Tower Works
The acid and alkali resistant spray tower uses a gas-liquid contact process to neutralize and remove pollutants from exhaust gas. Here’s how it works step by step:
1. Gas Inlet
Contaminated exhaust gas enters the lower section of the tower at a controlled velocity. As it rises, it passes through a layer of structured packing, which breaks the gas flow into small streams to maximize contact area.
2. Spray & Neutralization
A circulating neutralizing solution (customized based on your gas type, e.g., caustic soda for acidic gas) is pumped to spray nozzles at the top of the tower. The solution forms a fine mist that falls counter-current to the rising gas.
As the gas and mist interact, acidic components react with alkaline absorbents (or vice versa), dissolving and neutralizing harmful pollutants. For example, sulfur dioxide reacts with the solution to form harmless salts.
3. Mist Elimination
After passing through the spray and packing sections, the treated gas moves to the upper mist eliminator zone. This removes entrained liquid droplets to prevent water carryover, ensuring clean, dry gas exits the tower.
4. Liquid Recirculation
The used absorbent liquid collects in the tower’s sump, where it is recirculated back to the spray nozzles after pH adjustment. This reduces waste and operational costs, while sediment is filtered out to prevent clogging
Our acid and alkali resistant spray tower uses high-quality corrosion-resistant materials to handle harsh industrial environments.
The tower’s multi-stage design ensures that even trace amounts of pollutants are removed from the exhaust gas.
✨ Core Features of Our Spray Tower
Our acid and alkali resistant spray tower is a high-efficiency industrial waste gas purification system, widely used to treat corrosive fumes, acid/alkaline exhaust, dust, and odors. It is suitable for various working conditions in chemical plants, metal plating workshops, pharmaceutical factories, and food processing facilities.
1. Superior Purification Efficiency
The multi-stage gas-liquid contact design removes over 99% of harmful pollutants from exhaust gas, including acidic/alkaline fumes, paint mist, and fine dust particles. It effectively helps you meet environmental emission standards.
2. Corrosion-Resistant & Durable Build
Available in PP, FRP, and 304 stainless steel options, our spray tower offers excellent resistance to strong acids, alkalis, and high temperatures. PP models work stably at up to 80°C, while metal versions can handle up to 180°C, ensuring a long service life even in harsh environments.
3. Fully Customizable for Your Needs
Airflow rates range from 5,000 to 100,000 m³/h, with adjustable spray nozzles and packing layers to match different waste gas compositions. We provide free design services to tailor the system to your specific working conditions.
4. Low Maintenance & Cost-Effective Operation
The modular design allows for quick cleaning and replacement of spray nozzles and packing layers. The circulating water system reduces water consumption, keeping daily operating costs low while maintaining consistent performance.
5. Safe & Reliable Performance
Equipped with mist eliminators, pH monitors, and anti-clogging systems, the tower ensures stable and safe operation. It is designed to prevent water carryover and leaks, minimizing downtime and maintenance risks.
